Using AI with Google Forms Quizzes: How TrustStudy Works on Forms
How an AI extension reads Google Forms questions, which mode to use for each question type, and how to use it to check practice quizzes and study faster.
Google Forms is one of the easiest places to use an on-page AI study tool, because the questions are clean, clearly separated and mostly multiple choice. This guide shows how TrustStudy reads Google Forms questions and how to use it for studying.
How it works on a form
TrustStudy runs in Chrome. When you trigger it, it reads a question, sends it to the AI model you selected and shows the answer as a small note in the bottom-right corner, like 3 : b. The form itself is not changed unless you use Double-click mode on a standard choice question.
Shortcuts:
- Alt + X: get the answer.
- Alt + C: show or hide the note.
- Click the note: copy the answer.
The best mode for each question type
Multiple choice and checkboxes
Use Double-click: double-click anywhere inside the question card. TrustStudy reads only that question and its choices. On standard choices, it can also select the option the AI picked so you can compare it with yours. Select mode works well too: highlight the question and its options, then press Alt + X.
Dropdowns
Dropdown options are hidden until you open the menu. Open it first, or use Screenshot mode while the list is visible.
Short answer
Use Select: highlight the question and press Alt + X. Remember that short answers are graded by exact match, so precise wording matters. See Google Forms short answer tips.
Questions with images
Use Screenshot: the AI sees the image along with the text. Useful for diagrams, graphs and formulas. See Google Forms math and image questions.
Choose model and depth
In the popup, choose a model and a mode: Lite for quick recall questions, Eco for a bit of reasoning, Max for multi-step problems. The popup shows the credit cost before you ask.
A study loop for Forms
- Answer the practice question yourself.
- Double-click it (or highlight and press Alt + X).
- Compare. If you disagree, check your notes.
- Log every disagreement in your mistakes list.
Where it does not work
- Locked mode disables extensions entirely. See Google Forms locked mode explained.
- Forms embedded inside other websites may load in a frame the extension cannot read directly. Screenshot mode is the reliable option there.
Use it for studying, not for graded quizzes

Does TrustStudy work on Google Forms?
Yes. TrustStudy works on Google Forms pages opened in Chrome. It does not work in locked mode, which disables extensions on school-managed Chromebooks.
Which TrustStudy mode is best for Google Forms?
Double-click or Select. Both send only the question you choose, which is cleaner than sending a whole form with many questions.
Can TrustStudy select the answer on a Google Form?
In Double-click mode, when a question uses standard radio buttons or checkboxes, TrustStudy can select the choice the AI picked. Otherwise it shows the answer in the corner.
