How to Try TrustStudy for Free (and Make Your Credits Last)
Every TrustStudy account starts with 20 free credits. Here is how credits work, which settings cost the least and how to test it properly on a practice quiz.
TrustStudy lets you try it before paying anything. Every account starts with 20 free credits. This guide shows how credits work and how to get the most out of a free trial.
Step 1: Install and sign in
- Install TrustStudy from the Chrome Web Store.
- Pin it to your toolbar.
- Click the icon and sign in with Google.
Your 20 free credits appear in the popup under Credits.
Step 2: Understand what a credit pays for
Each answer costs a number of credits, which depends on three settings in the popup:
- Mode: Lite answers directly, Eco reasons briefly, Max reasons step by step. More reasoning costs more.
- Model: a fast model, a balanced model or the most powerful model. The most powerful one costs more.
- Input: Screenshot mode costs extra, because images take more work to process.
The popup shows "Costs X credits" with a breakdown before you trigger anything, so there are no surprises.
Step 3: Test it on a practice quiz
Free credits are best spent on a realistic test. Open a practice quiz in Moodle, Canvas or Google Forms, or any page with study questions, and:
- Answer the question yourself first.
- Highlight the question and its choices.
- Press Alt + X.
- Compare the note in the corner (for example
1 : c) with your answer.
Try one simple question and one harder one to see the difference between modes. If you want a guided demo first, click Show me in the popup.
Step 4: Decide if it fits your routine
Ask yourself whether checking on the page actually saves you time and helps you learn. If it does, paid plans add monthly credits and include all models. See the pricing section for current plans.
How to make paid credits last
- Use Lite for straightforward recall questions.
- Use Max only for multi-step problems.
- Prefer Select or Double-click over Text on pages with many questions, so you send only one question.
- Answer first, check second, and you will need fewer checks over time.
