How to See Canvas Quiz Answers (the Legit Way)
Where to find correct answers after a Canvas quiz, why they might be hidden, how teachers control results, and how to study with AI on practice quizzes.
After a Canvas quiz, the correct answers are often available, if you know where to look and when. Here is how results work in Canvas and how to use them to study.
Where to find your results
- Open the quiz in your course.
- Look for your submission or the View results link.
- Scroll through the questions to see your answers, marks and, if allowed, the correct answers.
You can also find quiz scores under Grades, where clicking the quiz name usually leads back to the submission.
Why answers might be hidden
Teachers control result visibility.
Classic Quizzes
- Let students see their responses, possibly only once after each attempt.
- Let students see the correct answers, possibly only after a date, or only after the last attempt.
New Quizzes
New Quizzes has detailed result view settings: whether you see your responses, whether they are marked correct or incorrect, the correct answers, points and feedback, and when each becomes visible.
Use feedback, not just answers
Many questions include feedback that explains the reasoning. That explanation is often more valuable than the answer itself, because it fixes the misunderstanding behind the mistake.
Ask your teacher
Use Canvas Inbox or a comment on the submission: "On question 3, I chose B. Could you explain why D is correct?" Specific questions get quick answers.
AI on practice quizzes

What does not work
